“Industrial Tech in Europe Is the Next Big Thing” – Welcoming Joshua Linder Back to Kvanted

This blog is part of a series introducing the Kvanted team. You can get to know the entire team here

Kvanted is delighted to welcome back a familiar face with Joshua rejoining the team as Investment Manager after completing his internship with us in 2024. Before returning to Kvanted, Joshua worked at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he focused on due diligence, technology and growth strategy projects for European private equity and industrial clients. He holds a master’s degree in finance from Hanken School of Economics.

Now, Joshua is excited to put his experience to work in identifying and supporting the next generation of industrial tech companies together with the Kvanted team. In this piece, he shares what drew him back to venture capital and why it feels like the best place to be.

Industrial Tech in Europe Is the Next Big Thing

What excites Joshua about industrial tech is the tangible nature of the problems it solves. It’s a field that doesn’t deal in nice-to-haves but instead tackles real, global challenges that shape how our economy and society function from the ground up. The fact that many of these solutions stem from deep research and complex engineering makes it even more fascinating to explore.

Now is also the most exciting time in decades for industrial innovation. Rapid advancements in AI and automation are enabling a step change across industrial sectors that have been lagging in adoption, allowing technology to move from the digital into the physical world at scale. Robots are becoming more adaptive, computer vision and simulation tools are accelerating design and production, and digital systems are helping heavy industries become more sustainable and efficient.

Europe is uniquely positioned to lead this transformation toward Industry 4.0. With deep industrial expertise, world-class research institutions, and a new generation of technically skilled and globally ambitious founders, the region has all the ingredients to build the next generation of industrial leaders.

The People Behind the Technology

What ultimately drew Joshua back to Kvanted and venture capital was the human element. The VC role provides a unique opportunity to meet curious, ambitious, and deeply motivated founders who dedicate their lives to solving complex problems. “What excites me most is the long-term nature of these relationships. The chance to work with entrepreneurs over many years and watch them grow from a bold idea into a company that transforms an industry is very inspiring”, Joshua reflects.

Kvanted couldn’t be happier to welcome Joshua to the team! Don’t hesitate to get in touch with him (joshua@kvanted.com) whether you’re an interested founder, investor or collaboration partner.
