Welcoming Mårten Mickos and Antti Vasara as Kvanted’s New Venture Partners

Kvanted is strengthening its industrial tech focus by welcoming two heavy-hitters to the team: Mårten Mickos and Antti Vasara join as Venture Partners. With a wealth of experience in global tech, innovation, and scaling impact-driven companies, their arrival signals a bold step forward in Kvanted’s mission to back Europe’s most ambitious industrial tech startups.

Mårten Mickos built one of Europe's earliest unicorn startups, MySQL AB. He spent two decades in Silicon Valley building disruptive and category-defining companies with community-based business models. Mårten is now focused on helping strong startup CEOs to succeed more wildly. At Kvanted, he will support portfolio founders in leadership, building world-class teams and global growth strategies.

"Kvanted is addressing the massive opportunity in Europe to build a new generation of industrial companies from the ground up. I want to be part of that work”, says Mårten Mickos, Venture Partner at Kvanted.

Antti Vasara bridges scientific research and industrial application, having spent a decade as President and CEO of VTT, one of Europe's top research institutions. Antti holds a doctorate in technical physics and his background spans Nokia, McKinsey, and various positions of trust in Finland and EU. He currently serves on the boards of Stora Enso, Detection Technology, and Bioretec. Antti will support Kvanted’s portfolio companies to turn breakthrough tech into scalable solutions for real-world impact.

“Industrial technology is undergoing a significant transformation, and Europe has the potential to lead the way. Kvanted is uniquely positioned to support early-stage founders driving this, and I’m excited to join as a Venture Partner to drive impact through industrial deep tech and entrepreneurship”, states Antti Vasara, Venture Partner at Kvanted.
